Agmemod Training Session 2019

Wageningen Economic Research, Den Haag
27 th – 29 th August 2019

Together with Thünen Institute of Market Analysis (TI) and Joint Research Centre (JRC), Wageningen Economic Research (WEcR) organise the Workshop “AGMEMOD MODEL AND SCENARIOS BUILDING” in the context of the SUPREMA project.

AGMEMOD stands for “AGricultural MEmber states MODelling” (https://agmemod.eu/). It is a dynamic, partial, multi-country, multi-market equilibrium system. It can provide significant detail on the main agricultural sectors in each EU Member State. Each of its country models contain the behavioural responses of economic agents to changes in prices, policy instruments and other exogenous variables on the agricultural market. A bottom-up approach is used to integrate country models into AGMEMOD. AGMEMOD runs and solves in a GAMS environment.

Aims of the training session

This 3-day workshop will address the following topics: (i) type of research and policy questions for which the model can be used; (ii) data needs and handling; (iii) equation sets and model structure; and (iv) modelling scenarios; including running the model and analysing its outputs. The course will combine learning by doing/ hands-on sessions, guided by experienced AGMEMOD modellers; with several plenary sessions on the general AGMEMOD framework.

Costs

There is no fee for participating in the workshop. Participants have to cover their own travel, accommodation and meals.

Registration

Potential participants are advised to contact the organising committee for further information on the registration procedure.
